The people at Lyle Alexander have spent their careers doing the roles they recruit for. That accumulation of hard-won experience puts us in the shoes of our clients and candidates in a way that changes every conversation — the intake call with a hiring manager, the first exploratory call with a senior salesperson who has consistently performed at the highest levels in their organisation and wants to build something bigger, the negotiation where the right outcome for both sides needs someone who understands what both sides actually care about.
Understanding what it takes to hire a truly top-performing salesperson, or to read the leadership qualities that fit what a particular company is trying to become — those judgements come from having been in those seats, made those calls, and learned from the results. We have had our share of both successes and mistakes, and both have sharpened how we work.
The way we handle candidates reflects that. Senior practitioners who come to us often need time to work out what the right move actually looks like. We invest that time with them. We listen before we qualify. We build their criteria with them, because most people at that level have never had to put it into words. We educate them on the structural realities of the market at their earnings level before we introduce a single company. John is the Founder of Lyle Alexander Consulting and leads clients through our Executive Search process. He also leads our team and provides the strategic backbone to our methodology and day-to-day operations.
As a trail runner, John is often on the trail for hours. We can't tell which part of that is most important, the exercise or being alone in the woods.

Head of Executive Search Delivery

Jay heads up delivery for our Executive Search engagements when we are retained. He also helps senior staffing and consulting sales and recruiting professionals to make impactful career moves.
Although he probably wouldn't write this himself, he is an avid strength & fitness enthusiast. We think he should enter the Senior Olympics. He's also a kitchen scientist — ask him about high protein cooking.
